As a Field Engineer in Cooling Technologies, you will be at the forefront of technical innovations as part of the company’s division that provides complete cooling and refrigeration systems and solutions (hardware, software, services) – for homes, buildings, data centres, and industries. Schneider-Electric Nederland has clients among industrial and highly technological companies throughout the Netherlands, and you will mainly work in their respective localities.

Your role will be a hands-on field engineering role and will imply installing, troubleshooting, commissioning, maintaining, retrofitting, and repairing cooling systems installed at client sites. You will have an opportunity to be trained – both on the job and through numerous online courses. Your key responsibilities:

• Attend and follow multiple training sessions designed to help you gradually assume and perform your tasks within your hands-on field engineering role
• Learn step by step, and after the training you will gradually become familiar with cooling systems and liquids and related standards of good practice
• Perform your work independently or within a team, depending on the level of complexity of the intervention and according to your level of experience, but you will always have a product specialist or a more senior field specialist to help you upskill
• Instal, inspect, commission, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment within the cooling range – refrigeration, air-conditioning, chillers, ventilation, etc. products, components, and solutions within industrial or highly technological environments like data centres
• Provide technical support to your clients for all products, solutions, and services within the cooling range – give them technical details and instructions about the operation and maintenance of cooling equipment – both on-site and remotely
• Advise clients on best practices, new services and upgrade opportunities; as well as about possible issues and ways to solve them efficiently
• Perform start-up/commissioning on equipment across the product portfolio; perform preventive, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on equipment
• Analyse malfunctions in equipment and interpret maintenance manuals, using knowledge of systems and electronics to isolate and correct issues
• Provide timely reports and perform administrative tasks as required
• Communicate regularly with team members, the sales team, technical support staff, and management, as well as with clients and subcontractors
• Adhere to all relevant quality and safety measures, policies and guidelines, and ensure their full compliance by all stakeholders
