For one of its clients – an international player engaged in the manufacture of electrical devices and sales of related services, who is willing to generate business growth in Belgium – Artemys is looking for a Field Technician - Electromechanics, who will be responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing client equipment within the medium-voltage product range.
Location: Flemish Brabant
As a Field Technician - Electromechanics, you will be in charge of installing, maintaining, retrofitting, and repairing industrial components – medium-voltage electrical switchgear, as well as providing technical support to company clients. You will be working mainly in your own region and be open to continuous learning and development.
Key responsibilities:
• Advise clients on best practices, new services and upgrade opportunities; provide them with technical instructions about the operation and maintenance of medium-voltage products and solutions
• Provide technical instructions and guidance to new and less experienced colleagues field technicians
• Perform warranty and recall work; test circuits and equipment using various tools and machines such as computers, software, workstations, circuit diagram, etc.
• Analyse malfunctions in equipment and interpret maintenance manuals, using knowledge of systems and electronics to isolate and correct issues
• Provide outstanding customer service; respond to emergency calls and be available for intervention
• Maintain service equipment, tools, and documentation
• Identify sales opportunities and submit them to sales teams
• Perform start-up/commissioning on equipment across the medium-voltage product portfolio, including electrical cabinets; perform preventive, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on equipment
• Perform basic audits of clients’ electrical systems and equipment
• Document all required information for each site (technical report)
• Get a signature from the client for acceptance after the execution of the on-site work
• Provide daily and accurate time and expense for each client intervention
• Properly document, label, and return all defective parts used in the repair of equipment to the designated disposal/repair location
• Develop innovative solutions to more complex technical problems that arise during start-up
• Research, evaluate, and recommend new products or equipment upgrades that will meet customer needs
• Participate in site visits, evaluating technical and professional performance; at the same time, look for other business opportunities outside the current scope of work and indicate them to the sales team
• Communicate regularly with the Planning Coordinator for the smooth execution of interventions
• Escalate to FS technical expert when unable to solve a technical issue
• Perform other duties as required
Technical skills and experience:
• Relevant degree in electronics / electricity / mechanics
• Fluency in Dutch and good knowledge of French; knowledge of English is considered a plus
• A good feel for electricity and possibly industrial components; a strong technical base in medium-voltage electrical products and solutions will be a plus
• Ability to read, analyse, and interpret general business procedures, professional documents, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
• Ability to write reports and procedure manuals; to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and clients
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; ability to apply concepts of algebra and geometry
• Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, etc.
• Ability to communicate effectively at various intellectual levels
• Familiarization in preparing Methods of Procedures (MOPs); adherence to the strict guidelines of the approved MOPs
• Verifiable hands-on technical work experience required
• Certification needed according to the Business and Country where he is operating
• Customer focus and ability to work alone and/or in shifts
Other skills and abilities:
