For its client MDWind, Artemys is looking for a Head of Installation – Wind Energy to ensure efficient support for achieving its long-term strategic goals and objectives.

Location: Weiswampach, Luxembourg

Responsibilities

As Head of Installation – Wind Energy, you will be responsible for the largest business unit in the company, and you will be dealing with the following aspects:

PERFORM
• Effectively manage all unit’s business activities: installation of onshore wind turbines and the related services on various international projects
• Effectively manage all technical, financial, and human aspects of the business, all with a result-driven approach
• Manage a team of 50+ people – project managers, site managers, team leaders, and primarily technicians working on projects in several countries
• Be accountable for the unit’s budget, net and gross margin, and turnover
• Participate in the preparation of the budget, create project proposals, supervise planning and costs, and financial status of projects
• Perform financial/human/commercial risk assessment and risk management
• Participate in strategy discussions at management board meetings
• Gain a thorough understanding of HSE standards and procedures; cooperate closely with the HSE department, and make sure that all relevant health and safety measures, standards and procedures are fully and consistently applied and respected on all projects and by all team members
• Travel to working sites and visit clients in order to get to know site operation, projects, clients, and teams (about 20% of working time, probably more in the beginning)
• Perform regular site audits

ORGANISE
• Make efficient planning and organisation of work
• Communicate clearly and work closely with your team; coach them and supervise their professional development; ensure they have relevant training and meet all relevant professional certification requirements; be responsible for their performance evaluation
• Be the link between the site and the back office – communicate transparently and establish effective cooperation with other departments
• Establish a close and continuous cooperation with the sales team; provide them with continuous technical support; where necessary, attend meetings with clients in order to secure successful sales deals
• Ensure smooth communication between the sales team and project managers – make sure that project managers are continuously provided with accurate, clear, and timely information
• Develop an effective sales strategy; validate offers, review contracts, and ensure full understanding thereof
• Evaluate prospective clients; have an effective ongoing communication with your clients, and ensure high level of client satisfaction
• Define client training strategy; plan, organise, and implement necessary client training
• Evaluate and validate suppliers; establish an effective communication and relationship with suppliers; be actively involved in the procurement process
• Organise and structure weekly reporting to CEO

CREATE
• Create positive work atmosphere and promote entrepreneurial spirit – be proactive rather than reactive; embrace critical questioning and innovation; build and encourage team spirit, high level of team motivation and confidence
• Persevere in efforts to improve ways of working and to increase the level of professionalism within the unit and across the board
• Create business process tools, such as forms and templates for various business processes, quality assurance procedures and protocols, and make sure they are consistently applied and adhered to
• Coordinate business processes with respect to tools and equipment – cooperate closely with the Tools and Equipment department; ensure optimal, rational, and timely planning, selection, and usage of the available tools, equipment, and fleet by your team; ensure that all such assets are handled with care and maintained in good working condition

In order to achieve all of the above, you will receive all necessary administrative, professional, technical and logistics support from the responsible persons in the company.

Qualifications

As Head of Installation – Wind Energy, you will share MDWind’s values and objectives, and you will actively contribute to its building a strong competitive position. It is therefore essential that you have:

• A Master’s degree in the relevant field and 5+ years of proven experience as an Installation Manager or similar role in the wind energy sector
• An in-depth understanding of industry relevant standards and procedures
• Strong organisational skills, ability to work with deadlines and manage stress
• Excellent communication skills
• A good head for figures and the ability to read and interpret financial statements
• Good operational knowledge of MS Office tools, such as Navision, Excel, Power BI
• Native proficiency in French and a very good command of English; knowledge of Dutch, German, or Portuguese will be an asset
• Entrepreneurial spirit, in other words, you are proactive and curious, able to anticipate and forecast, willing to ask questions, double-check, and challenge
• A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach, as well as the ability to see the “big picture”, look at a problem from different perspectives
• A hands-on, agile work style and a “can-do” attitude
• Strong, self-confident personality, who is autonomous and yet respectful of your hierarchy
