On behalf of its client – an international manufacturer of electrical devices and provider of related solutions and services, a leader in digital solutions for energy management and energy efficiency – Artemys is looking for a Service and Project Engineer – Digital Building, who will be involved in installing, inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the company’s Building Management Systems and equipment installed at client sites.
Location: Belgium, East- or West Flanders
As a Service and Project Engineer – Digital Building, you will be providing services related to cutting-edge Building Management Technologies. You will play a pivotal role as a technical advisor to a diverse clientele, spanning both small and large buildings with an emphasis on healthcare facilities, particularly hospitals. In addition, you will collaborate with clients to enhance their business operations, with an emphasis on implementing advanced energy solutions.
Your daily tasks will include designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining a range of Building Management Systems and Solutions. These solutions combine software and hardware and are composed of building operation and monitoring software, as well as a variety of meters, sensors, and controllers. As your clients’ single point of contact, you will be able to provide them with technical help and support both remotely and on-site.
Key responsibilities:
• Provide highly professional technical service to clients on-site: instal, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair client equipment within the range of Smart Building products and solutions
• Provide technical support to clients – advice on best practices, new services and upgrade opportunities, and instructions about operation and maintenance of equipment (energy management software, controllers, servers, power monitoring, energy monitoring, sensors, valve actuators, access control, fire detection, …)
• Perform start-up/commissioning on the entire range of Smart Building components across the product portfolio; perform preventive, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of equipment (energy management software, controllers, servers, power monitoring, energy monitoring, sensors, valve actuators, access control, fire detection, …)
• Proactively perform basic audits of the clients’ electrical systems and special techniques (HVAC, compressors, generators,…) as a client representative
• Contribute to the coordination and execution of small projects on client site (e.g. end of life, modernisation, upgrades); document all required information for each site (technical report)
• Carry out remote investigation of breakdowns and submit fixes; properly document, label, and return all defective parts used in the repair of equipment to the designated disposal/repair location
• Research, evaluate, and recommend new products or equipment upgrades that will meet client needs
• Participate in site visits, evaluating technical and professional performance
• Perform duties as required, practicing a high degree of safety awareness, to ensure safety requirements are met onsite
• Be available for 24/7 on-call duties as required, to address service issues promptly and efficiently
Technical skills and experience:
• A relevant technical degree (in electricity or electrical engineering, industrial automation, electronics, service engineering, or similar)
• Ability to read, analyse, and interpret blueprints and other service documents (specifications, etc.), as well as general business procedures, professional documents, technical procedures, etc.
• Skills related to Electrical or Mechanical HVAC or Instrumentation or Control will be an asset
• Verifiable hands-on technical experience with automation-related hardware and software
• Passion for finding and implementing energy efficiency solutions
• Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, etc.
• Experience with security systems would be advantageous
• A valid driver's license
