Can you tell us a bit about your role at Haulogy?
Well, I started working here on 16 January in the Operations Department. I am learning about the energy market, its trends, and how Haulogy’s software interprets messages from the market. Ultimately, my goal is to provide better customer service to Haulogy’s clients.
Do you feel that Haulogy’s mission, vision and growth plan align with your values?
Yes, I definitely do. Although I’m new to the energy sector, I find that many of the principles align with my previous experiences in different sectors. Learning about a new environment is the most interesting part of this job, and I’m excited to see how Haulogy manages different aspects of the energy market. I’ve had some fascinating conversations with the board of directors about their plans to improve the market in the upcoming years, which I find very motivating.
Can you tell us about your job and day-to-day tasks?
My job involves providing services to Haulogy’s customers, where part of the workflow is outsourced to consultants within Haulogy or within our operations team. Essentially, depending on what module the customer has purchased from Haulogy, it requires certain activities to be executed with the software.
What is the most interesting aspect of your job?
The most interesting aspect of my job is seeing how the energy market works from A to Z, from the electricity being transported to the end customer consumer.
How does Haulogy’s mission align with the need for clean energy and renewables?
Haulogy is doing everything in its power to mitigate the impact of climate change, including incorporating the possibility to use solar panels in its software. I think this is proof that the company is doing everything possible to be up-to-date and tackle challenging topics like the environment.
Where do you see yourself in the next five years?
Well, my main focus is to become a master of my job and understand the market, its functionalities, databases, and market trends. My goal is not to think about where I want to stand in five years, but rather to focus on achieving my current goals.
Can you tell us about your experience with Artemys during the recruitment process?
I came across Artemys through LinkedIn or email, and what stood out to me was the video call they insisted on having. We ended up meeting in person the next day, and the conversation was more profound than any other interview I had done before. I appreciated that Artemys took the time to understand me as a person, not just a project.
Did we prepare you well for the job interview with our client?
Definitely. In the beginning, I was offered two jobs, and I got support from Artemys team regarding the information that I needed to have. And if everything wasn’t clear, I had the possibility to call whenever I had any questions. So, when I went to the interview, I knew what I had to prepare for. I knew also exactly what the expectations from me as a potential candidate were. I would say that I didn’t feel alone during this process. I received the job description, and everything was also explained to me in a meeting.
As a job seeker, do you think that Artemys had full knowledge of the mission that was offering you?
Yes, based on our first conversation, it turns out that the two jobs they were offering me were quite similar. This was a signal to me that the selection procedure for jobs fitting the profile was also similar. In the end, both employers felt that there was a good connection from the conversations we had. These were all signals that there has been quite honest and transparent communication. In the end, I have been selected for one of the two positions.
How does Artemys follow up with you after the interview?
Yes, I still receive occasional calls from Artemys, and they are always open to speaking with me and listening to my feedback even after months of being employed.
Do you have any tips on how Artemys could improve its recruitment process?
From my experience, communication should be transparent and honest. Artemys is already doing a good job of valuing job seekers as humans, which is important. Artemys has a unique quality of maintaining a professional environment while still treating people like humans. Generating trust is the future of recruitment, and Artemys can be a shining example, especially in this “war on talents” in which we live.
You are also involved in social issues, particularly working with young people in engineering computing. How do you balance your job as an employee and your social engagement? Balancing work and social engagement has been a challenge, but I’ve found that being creative with solutions is key. For example, when I didn’t have enough time to actively make music with the youth, I built a studio and trained others to work with materials. That way, I could still contribute to doing something good and dedicate time whenever it fits, which benefited more people and was independent of my presence.
