Today, we have a special guest, Pietjan De Brouwer who works as a Business Energy Consultant for PowerPulse, an energy consulting firm specializing in various aspects of energy markets. Can you tell us a bit about PowerPulse and its mission?

PowerPulse is an independent partner that provides a cost-efficient energy management strategy, and designs and implements efficiency-enhancing projects. Our techno-economic expertise allows us to offer neutral and tangible advice to our clients on energy management.

Do you think the company’s mission reflects your values?

Absolutely! The company’s focus on providing expertise and advice to clients based on their energy demands aligns with my values. Instead of focusing only on profits or moving towards the fastest or most profitable approach, we prioritise our client’s needs.

Can you explain your role as an Energy Business Consultant?

As an Energy Business Consultant, I proactively develop and monitor cost-efficient energy efficiency and management strategies for our clients. This involves performing energy health checks, assisting with contract negotiations and budget monitoring, and supporting companies in implementing their climate strategies.

Do you feel fulfilled by your job and, if so, what inspires you for the future?

I’m still relatively new now in the role, but I find my role very fulfilling as I can see the measurable impact my advice and assistance have on our client’s short and long-term goals. In the future, I see myself managing a portfolio of clients and guiding them through the changing and complex energy markets.

How do you see the correlation between providing cleaner energy and the climate and environment crisis?   

I believe there is an increasing interest and attention towards cleaner energy and the climate crisis, triggered by the current energy crisis we are facing. At PowerPulse, we have a significant green energy framework, expertise, and knowledge to offer green solutions to our clients. We guide them through the setup and implementation of their climate strategies, calculating everything from initial costs to return on investments. As we continue to monitor developments in the sector, we can advise our clients faster and more strategically.

Can you tell us about your experience with Artemys during the recruitment process?  

I was contacted by Artemys with a very informative message about a job opportunity that matched my current needs. What caught my attention was the high level of professionalism and quality of content provided in comparison to other recruiting companies. Yes, Loic from Artemys gave me a very clear picture of what to expect during the interview process. He explained everything and even gave me tips about the energy markets, which would have been the focus of the interview.

How did Artemys follow up with you during the interview process?

I had regular contact with Loic before and after every interview, which made me feel supported throughout the process. The process consisted of three different interviews. I was even contacted by Artemys after I started my new job to check in and see how I was doing. It gave me the impression that the recruitment company cares about me as a person, not just a potential candidate. 

What is your general opinion about Artemys?

I had a great experience with Artemys. Loic went above and beyond to ensure that both the client company and I were a good fit for each other, which is not common among recruiting companies. I think Artemys is a very professional company, and I would definitely work with them again and recommend them to others.
